WebA5/2 is the intentionally weaker version of A5/1 which has been developed — due to the export restrictions — for deploying GSM outside of Europe. Though the internals of both ciphers were kept secret, their designs were disclosed in 1999 by means of reverse engineering [BGW99]. In this work we focus on the stronger GSM cipher A5/1.
