WebSaint Didier, also known as Desiderius (c. 580 AD – November 15, traditionally 655), was a Merovingian-era royal official of aristocratic Gallo-Roman extraction. WebDESIDERIUS OF CAHORS, ST. Merovingian bishop of Cahors (known also as Didier, G é ry); b. Obroge, France; d. Milhac, Nov. 15, 655. Desiderius was a member of a wealthy Gallo-Roman family. Upon coming of age, he and his brothers, Syagrius and St. Rusticus, took their places in the court of the Merovingian Chlotar II (d. 623).
