Ricknut63 WebMay 15, 2024 · Also look for the placement of the position markers on the fingerboard. The ones on real Ricks are slightly below center between frets; fakes are usually centered exactly. Differences in hardware are also obvious, but the fake stuff can be replaced by the real ones easily, making detail examination more murky.

WebAug 24, 2024 · Ironically it's easier to fake the raised letter TRC than properly replicate the font on the screenprinted Plexi TRC, so the raised letter TRCs are always suspect, unless the seller is obviously parting out the rest of the guitar too.
